Peter Lewis- Owner
My love and enjoyment of the outdoors began at an early age with participation in school sports, golf, fishing, hunting, and exploring. I knew early on that a cubicle would not be for me. Completing my Associates of Science degree in Turfgrass Management at UMass/Stockbridge School of Agriculture took me on a path of golf course management for the next 17 years, with 10 years as a golf course superintendent at a private country club in Connecticut. I moved to Maine in 1996 and worked for O’Donal's Nurseries in Gorham, ME and Westerly Winds in Westbrook, ME before starting Lewis Brothers Landscaping with my brother Pat in 1997.
Some of the highlights of my career include providing a venue for PGA qualifying rounds, championship conditions daily, coordinating the design of the front nine at Sunset Ridge Golf Course in Westbrook, ME, and the landscaping of the campus grounds, farms, and guesthouses, as well as the design/construction of the Public Garden at Pineland Farms.
After 24 years in the landscaping profession, I still enjoy the ever changing sites and clients I and my staff are able to work with, bringing our experience in making landscape desires a reality.
"Lewis Brothers was able to see the big picture and exactly what was needed to achieve it. As a result, our drainage problem was fixed in a faster and more efficient manner then we ever dreamed. Thanks, Lewis Brothers!"

James Taylor- Office Manager
I am a Maine native. After graduating from the University of Maine at Orono, I attended the Art Students League of New York and was an artist in residence at the Jane Burr House (the Woodstock Artists Association). I continue the process of creating art as a print maker today.
Some of my earliest memories are of my grandmother's flower garden. I truly have a passion for gardening and now create flower beds and borders at my home in Portland.
I am pleased to have the opportunity to be a member of Lewis Brothers Landscaping staff.

Joshua Edlund - Hardscape Project Manager/Assistant
When I was a kid in Massachusetts, I would often be late for the school bus as I would stare out the window of our colonial home at the stand of white pines on the neighboring hillside. I loved seeing how the wind would change the way the trees appeared as they were jostled back and forth in the breeze. I guess this was the first memory of being a visually oriented person. In my twenties I lived in California, and in between numerous attempts to complete art school, I ended up gardening with a friend’s company in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood.
We maintained lush landscapes, secret grottos in peoples back yards where time disappeared amongst the gorgeous scents and flora. I became an expert with pruning, to include specimen trees, knot gardens, and the bounty of perennials and annuals that were so ample in such a forgiving growth zone.
In 2000 I moved to Maine to complete art school, and after becoming a Dad, realized I had to pick a job. I signed on with a couple of Landscape companies, initially doing a lot of maintenance, then focusing on installations and some garden design. In 2004 I started my own business with a fellow landscaper. After much trial and error, we decided to focus primarily on
installation and design work, creating miles of stone walls, patio spaces, gardens, tree rows, water features and a lot of decks, arbors, pergolas, and benches. Our work eventually migrated into natural playground construction, working with municipalities and private preschools.
I really enjoy spending my days building beautiful outdoor spaces. Landscape construction affords me the luxury of incorporating my interests in sculpture, composition, nature, big tools, and a little bit of danger. I also really enjoy problem solving, ergonomics and moving large awkward things. At the end of the day, it is always a pleasure to be able to look and see that you have created something beautiful, that will continue to grow, and inspire people to love
being outdoors.

Ryan Provencher - Hardscape Foreman
I’m from Aroostook County and graduated from Caribou in 2002. My work experience consists of mostly landscaping and masonry, with some factory jobs. I’ve always been a hands on kind of guy and learned a strong work ethic at a very young age. After years of honing my skills in landscaping and masonry, hardscaping seems to come to me naturally and I enjoy it very much. To me, putting in a good, hard day’s work is gratifying and rewarding plus I love the outdoors and like to stay active. I enjoy fishing, hiking, swimming, camping, and just being outside in the sun, getting fresh air and exercise. Lewis Brothers Landscaping is a fantastic company to work for and has provided me with the opportunity to let my talents truly shine. I take pride in every job and find it fulfilling as I get to be a part of transforming our clients’ homes for themselves, family and friends to enjoy for years to come.
"Grateful as always for your hard work and stellar service. Seriously!"

Matt Ficano - Spring Clean Up/Mulching & Vehicle Care Foreman
I grew up being outdoors in upstate New York and have been familiar with hard work since I was young. At fifteen years of age, I was mulching at my house and my neighbors as well. After moving to Maine in the fall of 2020, I started performing construction work in Portland, Falmouth, Lewiston, etc. I have done a lot of physical labor on job sites and am now bringing that brought that hard working mentality to Lewis Brothers Landscaping.

Michael Rudy
I grew up in Chester County, PA, about a half hour outside of Philadelphia. I have always loved the outdoors and became an Eagle Scout when I was 17. At 19, I moved into the city to work with I.A.T.S.E Local 8 Stagehands and worked my way up to traveling the country putting on concerts and events. Besides putting on some of the largest festivals in North America, I have worked construction, demolition and home. I have lived in 6 different states/3 countries to date and enjoy meeting new people and experiencing different cultures.
