Lewis Brothers prides itself on the quality and accomplishments of its personable staff.

"We're so pleased with everything you did. Thanks for design advice, flexibility, execution. Your crew was great, but it takes effective leadership to get such good results."

Peter Lewis- Owner

My love and enjoyment of the outdoors began at an early age with participation in school sports, golf, fishing, hunting, and exploring. I knew early on that a cubicle would not be for me. Completing my Associates of Science degree in Turfgrass Management at UMass/Stockbridge School of Agriculture took me on a path of golf course management for the next 17 years, with 10 years as a golf course superintendent at a private country club in Connecticut. I moved to Maine in 1996 and worked for O’Donal's Nurseries in Gorham, ME and Westerly Winds in Westbrook, ME before starting Lewis Brothers Landscaping with my brother Pat in 1997.

Some of the highlights of my career include providing a venue for PGA qualifying rounds, championship conditions daily, coordinating the design of the front nine at Sunset Ridge Golf Course in Westbrook, ME, and the landscaping of the campus grounds, farms, and guesthouses, as well as the design/construction of the Public Garden at Pineland Farms.

After 23 years in the landscaping profession, I still enjoy the ever changing sites and clients I and my staff are able to work with, bringing our experience in making landscape desires a reality.

"Lewis Brothers was able to see the big picture and exactly what was needed to achieve it. As a result, our drainage problem was fixed  in a faster and more efficient manner then we ever dreamed. Thanks, Lewis Brothers!"

I am a Maine native. After graduating from the University of Maine at Orono, I attended the Art Students League of New York and was an artist in residence at the Jane Burr House (the Woodstock Artists Association). I continue the process of creating art as a print maker today.

Some of my earliest memories are of my grandmother's flower garden. I truly have a passion for gardening and now create flower beds and borders at my home in Portland.

I am pleased to have the opportunity to be a member of Lewis Brothers Landscaping crew.

I love helping people make their dreams for their outdoor spaces become a reality. I get to share my knowledge and creativity with people who are looking for the most ideal layout for their landscaping. Every day and every project is different. So I get to help create outdoor areas that are not only functional, and aesthetically pleasing, but unique to them as well. It is exciting being involved with a project from the initial inception to completion, where the project vision is fully realized. In my free time, I like being with my horses and traveling to rodeos. I enjoy tie down roping and barrel racing. I also enjoy spending time with friends and going to our camp.

"Grateful as always for your hard work and stellar service. Seriously!"

After 33 years, I've recently retired from the State of Maine as Grounds/Maintenance Supervisor at the Long Creek Youth Development Center. A common theme over those years has been the desire to make the workplace and my own home a place where plants and flowers play an important part. I enjoy working with people that feel the same about landscapes and outdoor settings plus taking advantage of all that Maine has to offer. I've found a great fit working with a team that shares the same love of plants and outdoor spaces.

I have been working outside most of my life and have always loved being outdoors. I started my landscaping career in high school with the Westbrook Parks Department. In my twenties, I spent five years gaining valuable experience in construction and maintenance at the Woodlands Club in Falmouth. Adding to my landscaping experience were job opportunities working with Paul Tukey’s landscaping company and the Audubon at Gilsland Farm. Following 12 years on the inside working at a local semiconductor company, I started my own landscape/property maintenance company, returning me to working outdoors. I am excited to be a part of the Lewis Brothers team, working with like-minded people to create inspired outdoor living spaces.

Born and raised in New Jersey working for my family's landscaping and construction company, I take pride in seeing a project from start to finish. Working in the field of landscaping will always be a passion of mine. I will continue to utilize what I have learned in the industry over the past 7 years to be an asset to Lewis Brothers Landscaping.

I’m an outdoorsy guy. I’ve always preferred making a living through the outdoors and landscaping provides me with a great opportunity to do that. I’m a Biology student taking time off from school at the moment to work, so I’m more than happy to be beautifying clients’ outdoor spaces as well as fill my desire of working outside. When I’m not working with the crew, I am often with friends walking trails, swimming in the nearby river, going for drives along the coast, and playing pool and darts in Portland, my hometown. Before joining the crew at Lewis Brothers, I worked for other local landscaping companies. In between landscaping positions, I was a dishwasher for both Street and Company and Scales restaurants.

I grew up with a mother that took great pride in her yard and gardens…it made me very proud of her and her hard work. I loved looking at the before and after pictures.

I have always enjoyed hard work and with Lewis Brothers, I find that with a hard working and professional team, I have carried on my mom's tradition in some small way. I take great pride in working with a quality team and seeing the end product.

Nothing is more satisfying than creating art and making others happy.

I grew up taking care of my grandmother's gardens and this has given me a special sense of pride that I feel when designing and cultivating a garden. Envisioning the goal and end product is always an exciting factor when helping someone's unique landscape come to life. I am thrilled to be a part of such a well respected landscaping company and have been learning so much more than what my grandmother taught me!

"We are both delighted with the quality of the work that your company and crew put into this project.  Please feel free to use us as a reference for other potential customers." - Cape Elizabeth, ME

"We have used Lewis Brothers Landscaping for a number of landscape and hardscape jobs over the past several years. Each and every time they have done a truly excellent job. They are dependable, take pride in their work, and get the job done promptly and neatly. Given the high quality of their work, their pricing is very fair. We highly recommend Lewis Brothers to all." - Cape Elizabeth, ME

I grew up in the area, attended school out of state, then came back a few years ago to start a farm. Though it was an extraordinarily rewarding endeavor, the timing wasn't quite right and I wound things down this spring. I'm returning to school to study regenerative agricultural and permaculture design but one of the many lessons learned on the farm was that theory doesn't count for much without foundational hands-on experience. Working on some hard-skills through landscaping is a great way to strengthen that foundation. Plus, after being outside and on my feet for so long, a desk job just doesn't cut it.
